The Psyciatry And Mental Health Department The Depatment of Psychiatry and Mntal Depatment provides secondary level of specialty services that encompass :
The clinic operates everday – morning and afternoon. It is collaborating with the Medical Specialisdt Clinic Counter E. The sessions are given via scheduled appoiments according to the clinical condition or referrals. Emergency cases are seen at the Emergency Depatment. The care is delivered by the Specialists, Medical Officers and a counselor.
InPatient Care The patients are managed in the General Medical Wards. The patient are treated and nursed with in the Medical setting. It caters only for voluntary admission.
Psychiatric Community Service There are case managers going out to monitor and administer treatment to selected challenging approach as well as to empower the family and community involvement in patient care. Peripheral Clinic coverage Psychiatric consultation and review are done at the peripheral clinic in oerder to facilitate patients to get adequate treatment near to their homes.
Consultation Laison Psychiatry The service the need to assess psychological issues in patient with physical illness that may interface with the treatment plan.
Psychiatric patients need further evaluation and intervention towards recovery. Hence, psychiatric rehabilitation is an important intergral with the support of Occupational Therapists. The services cater for general adult psychiatric, geriatric and children & adolesecents mental health problems. Objective Quality 90% of the appoiments of non-urgent new referrals will be seen at the specialist within 6 weeks. Contact Head of Department Psychiatry Department
