Introduction
The IT Department of Hospital Putrajaya is located on the lower ground of the Putrajaya Hospital. All THIS (Total Hospital Information System) operation and networking are connected to this department. There have 30 servers that control of all systems across seven floors of Putrajaya Hospital.
Role and Function To coordinate and accomplish : IT functions and operations of the Putrajaya Hospital Support and maintenance of IT Applications and Office Automation IT Inventory and requisition
 Facilities and Services
IT Traning All training about system of Putrajaya Hospital will be incharge by IT Department at Training Room. Training room have 12 computers to trainee our staff of Putrajaya Hospital.
Helpdesk The types of service level description that is managed and provisioned for by the helpdesk :
1) System operations function responsible for coordinating operational activities and other technical implementation activities within Putrajaya hospital. Major responsibilities are in the areas of :
- disk management
- system backups
- system performance management
- hardware/software upgrade
to ensure that platform strategy decisions and implementation activities are in harmony.
2) Oracle DBA function manages the Oracle database periodically with responsibilities in the areas of :
- monitoring database performance and file growth
- database tuning
- database backup and verification
- preparation of forward recovery
3) Systems and PC Application Function
- focuses on primary support for systems applications (HIS, HR and Financial and LIS) and PC based applications supplied
by SKSB.
4) Hardware and Network Support Function
- implementation and maintenance of all network equipment and system workstation hardware platform.
- Coordinates the installation of peripheral equipment and enterprise network to support in-house and remote access to networked systems.
5) CIS Application Support Function
- primary resource dedicated to building, testing and converting the application system database Application Analysts report to the Project Leader of an application/product.
Hardware and Software Support and Maintanance The activities that the Hardware And software Support and maintenance shall cover is :
1) Software corrective maintenance
- modifications of software codes that are identified to cause performance problems.
2) Software upgrade
- upgrading of software to new version when the upgrade is deemed necessary.
3) Software enhancement
- request for any new system development or enhancements to the installed system.
4) System operation
- backed up the first time and subsequently each time any change is done or at any other time deemed necessary.
5) User Support
- taking the necessary actions to alleviate the troubleshooting technical problems encountered by the users.
- communicate or facilitate communication of any changes to the Application Systems that have direct, visible impact on the usage of the system.
- Undertake the necessary steps to educate the users on proper usage of hardware and software, and computer virus prevention.
6) Network management and maintenance
- manage the installed network including the IT rooms allocated for the network hardware.
- monitor the performance of the network to identify bottlenecks, potential problems and to forecast capacity growth requirements.
7) Inventory management
- up-to-date listing of all IT hardware, software and drawings for network cable routing and data points shall be maintained.
- conduct periodic physical check on all IT inventory.
8) Handover
- to nominated user personnel who will take over the support and maintenance role after the warranty period shall be carried out.
Security
Data processing technologies have created network for protection of medical data in Putrajaya Hospital. Poor quality of transmitted images telemedicine become incorrect interpretation and diagnosis. These risk call for appropriate technical especially when dealing with patient medical record.
Backup
Daily Bakcup:·
- On-line backup is scheduled to run everyday to backup all data files and control files from live database HIS. The daily backup function should be automated.
- If there are errors to the auto-backup, the problem is to be reported to the system administrator or MIS personnel do decide if the backup has be re-run for the day.
Tape Backup:
- After on-line backup is done, it is the responsibility of the system operator to do a tape backup of the database files for the day and a tape backup of the archived log.
