Diagnostic Imaging
Introduction The Department of Diagnostic Imaging is located on the ground floor of Putrajaya Hospital just off the center area in the left wing.
Mission To achieve the hospital's vision, we shall work as a team with the other department to fulfill clients' healthcare needs by producing images of diagnostic quality. To accord all clients with dignity and be courteous at all times.
Facilities and Services
This department is equipped with two general radiography units one of which has tomographic capability. These units are for radiographs of chest, skull, extremities, others and also for intravenous urography examination. We have an ortopantomography unit for maxillo-facial radiographs for clients from the dental department. one fluoroscopy unit is available for fluoroscopic work. three mobile radiography units are available for mobile radiographs of the critically ill clients in the wards. We have one mammography unit , one spiral computed tomography scanning unit and one ultrasound machine each serving its own purpose for our clients. Except for the ortopantomogram and mammogram,. All images produced by the department are in digital form stored in the picture archiving and communication system (PACS). We also provide diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology namely biopsy, drainage and ablative therapy. The services provided by the Imaging department consist of CT Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, Intravenous Urography, General radiography and Mobile x-rays in the emergency department ,wards and operation theatre. This department is equipped with three general radiography units one of which has fluoroscopic capability. These units are used for plain x-rays, intravenous urography and fluoroscopic examinations. We have an ortopantomography unit for maxillo-facial radiographs for clients from the dental department. Three mobile radiography units are available for mobile radiographs of the critically ill clients in the wards and emergency department. Two C-arm units are placed in the operation theatre. The department also has two mammography units, one of which is a digital mammography unit. One spiral computed tomography scanning unit and two ultrasound machines are available to serve the clients. We also provide MRI service which is done in Serdang Hospital, once a week. Diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology namely biopsy, drainage and ablative therapy is also done in the department. All images produced by the department are in digital form and are stored in the Picture archiving and communication system (PACS). Operating hours : 8:00AM - 5:00PM (Monday-Friday)
